I’ve got things going on like crazy: moving, finals, work, and I’m transferring to CUNY.

Moving

I’m in the midst of moving. I’ve finally found a place (still in Queens!), but now I’ve got to pack everything into boxes and hire a mover and buy furniture. It’s a lot. I’m also in the middle of finals at school, and still have work. Many people have it busier than I, but this is a lot for me. I have both more and less stuff than I thought. Most of the volume of my (loose) belongings is clothes. I would probably attempt another subway move were it not for my bed, though not having to worry about transporting a bunch of stuff will be nice.

HomelabComputer

• I got an AOOSTAR WTR PRO network attached storage server, and I’m loving it. I managed to scrape together some memory and storage while I was back in California, and now I’ve got a little home server running Truenas. I immediately installed Tailscale, and I’ve been noodling and toodling around with it since.
• I’ve got Immich for pictures and Jellyfin for music running in Docker containers on it, and I’m pretty happy with it. I’m backing up important stuff nightly to Backblaze B2, so a catastrophic server failure wouldn’t be personally catastrophic (I’d still cry, though).
• Unfortunately, the new building doesn’t have Fios, but not having roommates means I can probably get away with a cheaper Spectrum plan.

Writing

• Papers, papers, essays, papers
• Beginning to noodle on the words I’ll say about Amy at our gathering this summer <3
• I’m really hoping to write some more in depth and interesting stuff here this summer. Multiple recentlies in a row doesn’t feel great

Puppies

I miss them so much. It’s almost worse to be away from dogs than humans because you can’t love them from afar with words.
